Arriving in a foreign country after a long trip is not easy, but maybe this will make it a bit less stressful.
Depending on your arrival time, there may be a bank window available to get some money changed. US$ are almost universally accepted, but it’s good to have some of the local currency handy for easy purchase of items, so clerks don’t have to search for the calculator to give you change after buying a candy bar. If you arrive late and it’s not open, we’ll change some for you or point you to a bank or ATM in the AM. Exchange rates at the airport are not the best, so don’t change much money, if any, at the airport.
As you come out of the building, turn left and there will be a little booth of “Taxis Aeropuerto”, the official Orange Airport Taxis, with one or two lovely ladies in attendance. If for any reason you don’t see it, look again, remember your eyes are glazed from the long trip. They will charge you about $10 (they take $$$) and take you out to one of the official orange airport taxis (or a van if you brought all your ¨stuff¨ with you).
